Nick Kyrgios is very close to breaking into the Top 10 of the ATP Rankings in doubles and he will try to seal his spot at the 2022 Swiss Indoors in Basel and Paris Masters.
2022 season started perfectly for the 27-years-old Australian who lifted doubles trophy with Thanasi Kokkinakis at the first Grand Slam of the season. Then, Nick Kyrgios lifted two more doubles trophies alongside one in singles and he's "hungry" for the remainder of this season.
He's scheduled to play at the Swiss Indoors in Basel and Paris Masters as well as the ATP Finals where he should play in doubles and still has a chance to qualify also in singles.
In the French capital, he will be playing doubles too as he will team up with Thanasi Kokkinakis. However, in Basel, Kyrgios will team up with someone he never played with before.
Before withdrawing from semifinals at the 2022 Japan Open in Tokyo, Australians defeated Pedro Martinez and Bernabe Zapata Miralles and it will be Martinez who will join forces with Kyrgios in Basel.
Martinez played 43 matches in doubles this year and was victorious 19 times. Moreover, he paired with Lorenzo Sonego to win his only ATP doubles title in Kitzbuhel.
