Australian no. 1 in singles and doubles, Nick Kyrgios won't take part at the 2022 Davis Cup Finals in Malaga.

On the opening day of the 2022 Davis Cup Final 8 event, Australia is set to take on the Netherlands. Both teams already announced their squads and the Dutch squad will have a minor advantage as Australian no. 1 Nick Kyrgios isn't featured on the list, since he ended his season early due to an injury.

The Dutch team will be captained by Paul Haarhuis and they will travel to Malaga with five men: Botic van de Zandschulp, Tallon Griekspoor, Tim van Rijthoven, Wesley Koolhof and Matwe Middelkoop.

On the other hand, their quarter-final opponents from Australia will arrive only in four with captain Lleyton Hewitt picking Alex de Minaur, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell.

Kokkinakis made his Davis Cup debut against Oscar Otte in September and he was picked also for the Final 8 over higher-ranked Jordan Thompson.

On the other hand, De Minaur should be the player leading Australian team as he competed in 14 Davis Cup matches before, winning 9 of those.
