Tennis doesn't seem to have a huge sway on the US as Taylor Fritz admitted that the team winning the Davis Cup would not be talked about.

Tennis has always been a popular sport in the US, but recently other sports have surpassed it in popularity. The recent pictures from the WTA Finals in Forth Worth proved that it isn't as big as other sports and there is very little interest.

Despite having two US players in the field, stands were largely empty for the majority of the event sending a very ugly picture around the world. Fritz conceded that the US team winning the Davis Cup would not be a big deal, so he doesn't believe men's tennis fares any better.

"It's obviously way more important for us," began Fritz adding:

"I think no one really cares I think if we win. If we were to win Davis Cup, I don't think it would be even talked about on ESPN or our sports channels in the U.S. Maybe we'll win and I'll be pleasantly surprised, but yeah, I don't think so."

Fritz wanted to win the Davis Cup finals as it's one of the competitions you dream of as a young tennis player and he is not satisfied with anything but a win: "But we all want to win. The importance of Davis Cup for me is basically like you either win the whole thing or you don't. It's not the kind of thing where we make finals and I'm, like, I'm happy we made finals. It's like lose quarterfinals, lose semifinals, lose finals, it's all the same. It's either you win or you don't."

Unfortunately, the US lost in the quarter-finals against Italy so it certainly won't be talked about on ESPN.
