Alcaraz overcomes slow start in Hamburg to reach

Carlos Alcaraz will play his fifth final of the 2022 season after defeating Alex Molcan in the semifinals of the 2022 Hamburg Open.

The young Spaniard had a slow start to the tournament but also to his semifinal match against Alex Molcan. Despite breaking his opponent first, Carlos Alcaraz couldn't finish the first set without playing the tie-break.

In the tie-break of the first set, Alcaraz dominated from start to finish, winning the tie-break 7-2. In the second set, it was a much more dominant performance by the Spaniard.

He started with a break in the second set and confirmed the advantage and quickly enjoyed a 3-1 lead. Then he won the last 11 points of the match to win it 7-6(2), 6-1.

In the final of the tournament, he will play against world no. 62, Lorenzo Musetti who defeated Francisco Cerundolo in the semifinals of the tournament. So far, the Spanish sensation is yet to lose a set in the finals and he will try to keep his streak also in Hamburg.
