The Tel Aviv Open was absent from the ATP Tour since 1996 but now it returns with a star-studded field that will compete from September 26th until October 2nd.
Historically, the Tel Aviv Open is a very interesting tournament. 8-time Grand Slam champion, Jimmy Connors won his last singles title at this tournament and it also holds the ATP record for the youngest winner of an ATP event, when Aaron Krickstein won in 1983 at the age of 16 and 2 months. This year, the 21-time Grand Slam champion leads the entry list at the tournament.
After playing the Laver Cup alongside Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, the 21-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic will headline the 2022 Tel Aviv Open. He will face a fierce competition from another Grand Slam champions, Dominic Thiem and Marin Cilic.
But the field of players in Israel will feature many players that are able to cause a surprise. Diego Schwartzman, Botic van de Zanschulp, Maxime Cressy and Aslan Karatsev will all compete at the 2022 Tel Aviv Open.
