The 2022 Wimbledon Championship will be held from June 28th to July 10th, and it will be different from previous Championships for a variety of reasons, although it will still offer a record-high prize money.

The All England Club has decided that Russian and Belarussian players would not be able to compete at Wimbledon in 2022, and this decision has surprised the tennis world, with many players opposing the decision. As a result of the decision, the ATP and WTA have chosen to deduct points from the tournament, leaving only prize money and glory to play for.

Players such as Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Karen Khachanov, Aryna Sabalenka, Victoria Azarenka, Daria Kasatkina, Veronika Kudermetova, and Aslan Karatsev were not permitted to compete this year. Furthermore, it will be the first time the tournament has been staged without Roger Federer since 1999, since the Swiss Maestro will be absent. In addition, last year's champion, Ashleigh Barty, has retired from tennis and will not compete in this year's event.

Despite no points being awarded to the players, the prize money will be record-high as the champions will take home £2,000,000 and runner-ups more than £1 million. Prize money starts at £50,000 for the first round loss and so despite no points awarded, it will be worth competing for players.
