Vondrousova Reveals Her Coach Will Get A Tattoo After Wimbledon Triumph Because Of Bet

| by Sebastian Dahlman

Marketa Vondrousova won the 2023 Wimbledon Championships, and her coach will do something he promised to do if she wins it.

Marketa Vondrousova arrived in London in hopes of playing some solid matches but the expectations were far from actually going on a deep run. Vondrousova missed the event last year with a wrist injury, so nobody really believed she could actually advance to the final, let alone win the event.

She did just that by booking the final with a win over Svitolina and then playing a superb match to take down Ons Jabeur who actually played a Wimbledon final before this one. The grass is not her best surface, and it's actually been a problematic one for her over the years, but she found a good rhythm here, and it never evaporated.

The win is a major thing for the Czech player, who will now break into the Top 10 on the WTA Tour, as it's something nobody will ever be able to deny her. She joins an elite club of Grand Slam winners, and to make the occasion, Vondrousova will get some new ink. She has multiple tattoos already but will mark the Wimbledon win with another one.

She further revealed in her post-match interview that her coach promised to get one too if she wins a Grand Slam so naturally she was asked about that after the match. Vondrousova expressed hope that he doesn't pull a backside and actually goes through with it. She doesn't know what it would be. Not yet, at least.

I think I'll choose for him. Maybe we'll get the same one. We talked before the tournament, and he said, Yeah, so maybe if you win a Grand Slam, then I'll do it. Then this is happening.

I hope he's not going to back. I think I'm just going to made him do it. So we'll see (smiling). I hope we can make it happen here.
