Ons Jabeur experienced an unfortunate situation leading up to her Wimbledon final after she was sent back to the locker room to change into an all-white outfit for her warm-up.

The Tunisian was facing Marketa Vondrosouva in the 2023 Wimbledon final and she stepped out onto the court for her warm-up before the match. She emerged with a black t-shirt for the warm-up which didn't comply with the event's strict all-white dressing code for players on the court, which is why she was sent back to the locker rooms.

Jabber was aware of the rule in place but completely forgot about it as she was super focused on the final. Asked by reporters after the match, Jabeur confirmed it was just an honest mistake as opposed to some deliberate move.

No, I completely forgot the white rules. When you go into a match court, you just dress up as normal clothes. For me, I completely forget that today I was warming up on Centre Court, it has to be all white. Yeah, I don't know, it was just an honest mistake.

The event has been relaxing some strict rules over the years as we saw them lift the ban on coloured underwear for women at this year's event which was a huge relief for many players. It's something that took a while to happen but ultimately it's better late than never.

They also allowed a coloured bag to be brought onto the Centre Court as Jannik Sinner brought his Gucci bag earlier at the event. However, a black t-shirt was a bit too much for the event as they want to preserve the iconic all-white dress code for players on the courts.

It's understandable as it kind of makes Wimbledon stand out from the rest of the events and plenty of players voiced their support for that rule so for now it's here to stay.
