Emma Raducanu is in the 3rd round of the Indian Wells after another solid win despite the wrist injury still giving her problems.

Raducanu had a medical timeout during her win over Linette but controlled the match fairly well against a tricky opponent. Being able to win matches while dealing with an injury and being somewhat 'out of it' all is positive for her.

Yeah, I was really pleased to have won today. I was the other day, as well. But as I said, I was so out of it, I didn't really know what was going on. Magda played, like, really high level. Like some things that were working in the past weren't working today, and I adapted. Yeah, I was, yeah, just very, very pleased with how I fought and dug in.

The injury has been identified as a wrist injury but the exact nature of it remains a mystery. She can play through it with treatment in between matches which makes everything manageable. When asked about it, Raducanu refused to go into too much detail.

Yeah, I got some treatment in between. It's the same. It's manageable. Still able to win matches at this level. Managing it. Yeah, as to what it is, I'm not going to go into it.

Raducanu on her injury

It's hard to blame her due to her recent unlucky run with injuries. An ankle and now a wrist and we're not even halfway through. Last year saw her deal with plenty of injuries too and she lamented her luck with injuries after the match.

Yeah, I mean, sometimes you wonder, like, you think, like how is this possible. But then very quickly I think you create your own luck. It works both ways. I won the US Open as well, and I think I also have to take the bad luck sometimes, because also, like, good fortune has also come upon me. I think that I wouldn't trade that title for the world.
