Iga Swiatek is set to complete one full year as world no. 1 and move up in the historic standings.

This impressive milestone comes after she first claimed the top spot on April 4th, 2022, following the retirement of then world no. 1, Ashleigh Barty. Since then, Swiatek has dominated the WTA Rankings, building a massive lead over her closest competitor, Aryna Sabalenka.

Swiatek's reign as world no. 1 has been remarkable, as she has spent a total of 44 weeks at the top of the rankings and is expected to spend at least 52 weeks as the top-ranked player, with Sabalenka withdrawing from the upcoming Qatar Open.

This will be a historic achievement for Swiatek, as she will move to 12th place in the historic rankings, overtaking Victoria Azarenka, who was world no. 1 for 51 weeks. However, Swiatek's reign as world no. 1 will not be without challenges, as the first attempt to dethrone her is expected to come at the Indian Wells and Miami Open, where she will be defending titles worth 2000 points collectively.

With several top-ranked players vying for the top spot, Swiatek will have to be at her best to maintain her dominance. It is worth noting that Swiatek's rise to the top of the rankings has been a testament to her talent and hard work. She has had a phenomenal year on the court, winning two major titles and consistently displaying her world-class skills.

Her success on the court has also been a source of inspiration for young tennis players around the world, who look up to her as a role model.
