Polish tennis superstar Iga Swiatek has been nominated for the prestigious Laureus Sportswoman of the Year Award.

This award is given to the female athlete who has made the most significant contribution to their sport over the past year. Swiatek is one of the few tennis players to be nominated over the years, and it is a testament to her impressive achievements in 2022.

The Laureus World Sports Academy is made up of 71 members who are all experts in their respective fields. They will vote for the winners of the Laureus Awards, which will be announced later this year. In addition, the Global Media Panel will nominate athletes for various categories, including Sportswoman of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, Team of the Year, and many more.

Swiatek's nomination comes after a remarkable year in which she established herself as one of the best players in the world. She won the French Open for the second time in her career and then went on to win the US Open, becoming the first Polish woman to win a Grand Slam outside of Paris.

Despite being only 21 years old, Swiatek has already achieved so much in her career. She has a bright future ahead of her, and her nomination for the Laureus Sportswoman of the Year Award is just the beginning of what promises to be a long and successful career.

Other athletes nominated for the award include Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Katie Ledecky, Alexia Putellas, and Mikaela Shiffrin. These athletes have all achieved remarkable success in their respective sports, and the competition for the award will undoubtedly be fierce.
