Emma Raducanu blossomed into a pretty great tennis player but it was not always so with the young Brit being quite shy on the court.

Emma Raducanu created history by winning the US Open as a qualifier and that's something that nobody will ever take away from her. It hasn't been all sunshine since then but Raducanu is quite young and it's a journey that will certainly feature more success in the future.

It wasn't always so as Raducanu was quite shy on the court early on in her career but over time she grew more confident. Beating boys and coming back from losing were one of the ways she did that:

"I used to be really shy as a young girl and playing tennis and beating the boys and coming back when I was losing, that just brought me a lot of confidence."

She added:

"Yeah, I can say that I'm definitely more comfortable and outgoing now than I was when I was younger, and I think tennis has brought me that."
