Coco Gauff will play at the Silicon Valley Classic in San Jose, and before the event, she stopped by at a San Francisco Giants game.
While tennis players are focused on their schedules on the ATP and WTA Tours, they often try to find funny and entertaining ways to spend their free time while travelling to different cities for tennis tournaments.
One of those cities is also San Jose, and before competing at the tournament, the American teenage prodigy made her way to the San Francisco Giants game in the MLB, as the Oracle Park, where Giants play, and the San Jose State University, where the Silicon Valley Classic is played, are only around 50 miles apart.
It's not the first time a tennis player has been invited to a baseball game to throw out the first pitch, as Milos Raonic did it back in 2014 for the Toronto Blue Jays. Gauff stepped onto the mound and did the typical pitcher's pose before delivering a pretty sturdy first pitch.
Gauff will return to tennis next week at an event in San Jose, and it will be the first time she will compete after her Wimbledon exit. She returned to the courts a few days ago to play two exhibition matches in Atlanta this week, and she won both matches easily.
This is a pivotal part of the season for Gauff because of her home slam at the US Open, as well as a chance to get into the Top 10 for the first time in her career. Gauff is currently ranked 11th.
Still a teenager, Gauff is without a doubt a future of the American tennis, and the US Open is one of the tournaments where she gets the most support from the lively crowd, as it's her home Grand Slam.
