The 2024 Nottingham Open will run from June 10th to 16th, and prize money details have been revealed.
This tournament will be played on grass courts and is part of the WTA 250 series. It serves as a Wimbledon tune-up for those who exited the French Open before the semifinal stage.
The draw was released on Saturday, with Tinisian's Ons Jabeur expected to be the overwhelming favorite to win her first title of the season. The top seed defends runner-up points at Wimbledon next month, so she'll be looking to build on the momentum by getting a few wins under her belt.
Players expected to challenge Jabeur include former Wimbledon finalist Karolina Pliskova, British No. 1 Katie Boulter, and the rapidly improving Marta Kostyuk.
2021 US Open champion Emma Raducnau has been training on grass for a few weeks and is probably in better shape than the rest of the field. She is a wild card entrant at the event.
One of the most experienced players in the draw is Germany's Tatjana Maria. The mother of two reached the Wimbledon semifinal two years ago and is due to contest the W100 ITF final in Surbiton on Sunday before she travels to Nottingham.
This year's total prize money is a generous $267,082, which is 3% higher than in 2023. This small increase will be distributed in all rounds of the draw. Prize money and points distribution in the main draw will begin in the first round.
Players who don't win a match will be awarded 1 point and compensated $2,890. Those who go a round further will earn $4,040 and receive 30 points. It only takes two wins to reach the quarterfinal stage. Here, participants will pocket $6,608 and will be awarded 54 points.
Those who advance to the semifinal will earn $11,610 and receive 98 points. The champion will make $35,250 and receive 250 points, whereas the runner-up will receive a paycheck of $20,830 and 163 points. The complete breakdown can be seen below.
