The 2023 Adelaide International 2 is one of the first WTA 500 events in the calendar and it features probably the strongest draw possible for an event like this.
Madison Keys is the only champion of the event as she won in 2022 and she will begin her 2023 campaign against former world no. 2, Paula Badosa. The tournament features a number of Grand Slam champions and one of them is the highest-seeded Iga Swiatek.
The young Pole will begin her tournament against Beatriz Haddad Maia or a qualifier and can face a very interesting opponent in the quarterfinals. Her opponent can be the 2017 Roland Garros champion, Olympic Gold medalist Belinda Bencic or former world no. 1 and two-time Grand Slam champion Garbine Muguruza.
The 2022 WTA Finals champion, Caroline Garcia, is the fourth-seeded player at the event. She will play against a qualifier in the first round and she can meet Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova or a qualifier in the second round.
The 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina will meet the fifth-seeded Daria Kasatkina in the first round as world no. 2 and two-time Grand Slam finalist in 2022, Ons Jabeur, can meet the 2021 Roland Garros champion, Barbora Krejcikova, in the second round.
