From September 26th until October 2nd, WTA players will meet in the Estonian capital at the 2022 Tallinn Open.
Anett Kontaveit headlines the 2022 Tallinn Open and home fans will be delighted to see world number 3 in their country. The Estonian is the first-seeded at the event, which will her first since losing to Serena Williams at the US Open, and she will start against Xiyu Wang in the first round.
But she won't be the only Estonian competing in Tallinn as two more players received a wild-card for the main draw. The second-seeded Belinda Bencic will play against one of them as she will take on Elena Malygina in the first round.
The 2022 Tallinn Open will be attended also by some Grand Slam champions. Elena Rybakina, who may be forced to qualify for one of the WTA 500 events this year despite winning Wimbledon, is the sixth-seeded and she will meet Laura Siegemund in her opener.
Also 2017 Roland Garros champion will be in Estonia as Jelena Ostapenko will play against Kaia Kanepi in the first round. 2021 Roland Garros winner, Barbora Krejcikova is the seventh-seeded and she will meet Ajla Tomljanovic from Australia.
