Right after the last Grand Slam of the season, WTA Tour continues with two WTA 250 tournaments and one of them will be the 2022 Portoroz Open.
The WTA 250 event in Slovenia will be held from September 12th until 18th and two Grand Slam champions will take part at the event. 2021 US Open champion, Emma Raducanu will be one of them as she will be the top-seeded player at the 2022 Portoroz Open.
But the young Brit will face a difficult draw as she's set to take on former world number 21, Dayana Yastremska. The Ukrainian lost more matches than she won in the last two season, but she's still a very big threat for any player she faces.
Another Grand Slam champion in the draw is this year's Wimbledon winner, Elena Rybakina. The 23-years-old Kazakh will take on Laura Siegemund in the first round and so she will also have a difficult task.
The 2022 Portoroz Open will be attended also by the young American Elizabeth Mandlik, who received a wild-card and will play against one of the qualifiers in the first round.
Some of the interesting first-round matches include the match between Ekaterina Alexandrova and Marta Kostyuk or the second-seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia and Clara Tauson.
