Novak Djokovic will not play at the 2022 US Open after he announced his withdrawal prior to the draw.

The 21-time Grand Slam champion will therefore miss the second Grand Slam tournament of the season and his main rival, Rafael Nadal will get a chance to win his 23rd major. However, Novak Djokovic chose to forget about not being able to travel to the United States by spending time with people that adore him.

Serbia has a lot of young people playing tennis, especially because of the popularity of Novak Djokovic. During the summer, the Serbian held a tennis camp in his Novak Tennis Center and he joined the kids during one of the days and the young tennis stars enjoyed the presence of their hero.

When announcing his withdrawal from the 2022 US Open, he stated: "Sadly, I will not be able to travel to NY this time for US Open. Thank you NoleFam for your messages of love and support. Good luck to my fellow players! I’ll keep in good shape and positive spirit and wait for an opportunity to compete again. See you soon tennis world!"
