Novak Djokovic knows how it feels like when there's a request for a fan to be removed during a Grand Slam match, but in the most recent case, it wasn't him making the request.

In the 2022 Wimbledon final, the experienced Serbian played against Nick Kyrgios, who wasn't happy about one of the fans, and asked for them to be removed. This time, a similar situation happened to Djokovic at the 2023 Australian Open, the reason being alcohol again.

With the match already almost in his pocket, the 21-time Grand Slam champion made a decision to complain to the umpire about a fan, that was bothering him since the second-round match in the Rod Laver Arena started.

"The guy's drunk out of his mind, from the first point he's been provoking me. He's not here to watch tennis. He just wants to get in my head."

Djokovic explained the situation and requested for the fan to be removed from the stadium.

"What are you going to do about it? Why don't you get security to get him out of the stadium?"

Despite the fan that the Serbian was not happy about, he thanked all the fans after the match, praising the atmosphere in Melbourne.

“Unbelievable atmosphere. Thank you so much for staying this late, everybody. Also, thank you for giving me such a welcoming and a reception I can only dream of. I really feel very happy that I’m back in Australia and I’m back here on the court where I had the biggest success in my career.”
