Alexander Zverev withdrew from the ATP 1000 event in Montreal but the German continues his rehabilitation and it seems that he's on track.

It's been more than 2 months since the 25-years-old German suffered the horrible injury in his semifinal match at the 2022 Roland Garros against Rafael Nadal. After he made his first steps following the surgery 3 weeks ago, he also stepped on the tennis court for the first time since his injury. Alexander Zverev also recently opened up about the diabetes that he's been battling since his childhood, when he said:

"As a little boy I didn't think about it much, later more and more. I want to show that you can make it far with this disease. Now, many years later and also with the success behind me, I feel comfortable and confident enough to go public with this initiative. I want to support children who can still avoid getting diabetes with an active life and the right prevention," Zverev said.

"I'm in the privileged situation of leading a life that I've always wanted to lead," Zverev said, adding: "I always wanted to play tennis, travel to tournaments around the world and be one of the best tennis players in the world. I owe everything to my parents and my brother, who have always supported me unconditionally on my way there and still do today."

After many weeks of rehabilitation, the tall German returned to practice but it was obvious that he was trying to mostly practice his strokes and use only the upper part of his body. His legs still need some time before he will be fully fit. Zverev added the video of his practice also with a caption saying: "Happy kid back at his favorite playground"
