Novak Djokovic is of the opinion that the tennis season is too long and needs to be reorganized confirming his views in Dubai.

The tennis season is long, very long. There is not one sport that keeps on going as long as tennis does with events being staged in every month of the year. The unique nature of the sport contributes to that but Djokovic isn't necessarily a fan of it. He would not mind a shorter season that is slightly better organized.

Season is long. For me it's too long, in my opinion. I have been saying that quite some time - these days when I'm a bit older than I was 10 years ago. I just feel like we can reorganize our season in a better way.

Djokovic might not be the only player who would enjoy a shorter season because the game has become much more physical than in previous years. The toll on the body is much higher than before and with the length, it builds up.

"I do agree it has become more physical in terms of running, sliding," Djokovic said. "You have to be very athletic. You have to be an all-around, all-surface player in order to be No. 1 in the world. Nowadays everyone is playing pretty much every big tournament, so the competition is very, very high.
