After his incredible performance at the just-finished US Open, Frances Tiafoe stated he was thrilled to be named alongside Arthur Ashe.

World No. 19 discussed how hard his parents had worked over the years in an interview with Good Morning America. He added that he would always remember what it was like to be acknowledged beside Arthur Ashe.

"It's truly a blessing from where I came from. All the work that my parents have done over the years and having see that and be part of that is crazy,"

said Frances Tiafoe who added:

"To be in the same sentence as Arthur Ashe in anything is unbelievable and that's something no one can ever take from me so I'm gonna remember that forever."

Michelle Obama, the former first lady of the United States, was spotted in the audience supporting the young American during Tiafoe's semifinal matchup against Carlos Alcaraz which he discussed as well:

"Probably the best thing was seeing first lady Michelle Obama in the match. Like I was in one changeover when I looked and she looked at me and I was like going back and forth. And when they announced it to see the crowd erupt, so that was pretty impactful for me."
