Nick Kyrgios had the best season of his career but despite enormous success, he couldn't qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin.

The 27-years-old Australian won his first singles title in three years and he also lifted his first Grand Slam trophy in doubles at the Australian Open alongside Thanasi Kokkinakis. Thanks to that title, Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis qualified for the 2022 ATP Finals in doubles.

However, the Australian wasn't happy with his qualification only in doubles as he would have been really close to qualifying also in singles if points from Wimbledon counted. He shared news about his qualification from doubles on Instagram and added a caption stating:

"Should of been singles as well. No points at Wimbledon. First time in 53 years but we won't speak of that."

In fact, if points from Wimbledon counted, Novak Djokovic would easily qualify anyway with 4810 at the moment. Therefore, there will be two more spots left and Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrey Rublev would be still the biggest candidates to get them.

However, Kyrgios would be much closer as he would have 3070 points instead of 1870 and there's a chance that he would have played in Basel and Paris to increase his chances instead of skipping these events.
