The mother of Holger Rune is never far away from her son when he's playing tennis sitting courtside at all of his matches.

The Danish player defeated Novak Djokovic in the Paris Masters final to win the biggest title of his career. His mother was there on the sidelines taking it all in, and when she saw her son hold the award, she was filled with pride.

Rune was questioned by fans about his mother and her role in his team with the Danish player always highlighting the importance of her and he did it again after the final: "She's so important. I mean, without her I would obviously not be here today. I mean, she's been supporting me since I was a little kid, and, you know, she's still here. It's amazing to have her by my side."

Earlier Rune explained that she helps him in many ways during an interview with tennis majors: "She knows me that well, she's my mom. I think she will keep coming with me on the tournaments. She helps me relax after matches or when I'm tired after practices. She's like a mental coach for me."

His family was also in Paris and Rune spoke about them as well:

"Also my whole family, my dad was here today and my sister back home. It's amazing to have my family supporting me so well. So I appreciate that."
