Andrey Rublev is the last name to be added to the list of semifinalist at the final ATP event of the season as he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in final round-robin match.

Ahead of the 2022 ATP Finals, the Russian joked about his presence in the red group, where all other players lifted at least one title at the year-end competition. However, Rublev's journey started with a win against compatriot Daniil Medvedev and after losing to Novak Djokovic, he played for the last semifinal spot against Stefanos Tsitsipas.

It started well for the Greek, who got the first break and after no more break points in that set, he comfortably won the first set 6-3 and got an important advantage.

However, his opponent was determined to fight back and that's exactly what happened in the second set. He was the first player to have break points this time and after succeeding on the second time of asking, he tied the score by winning the second set 6-3.

After losing the second set, Tsitsipas couldn't find any answers to Rublev's questions in the third set as the Russian was perfect on his serve and added a few good returns to get two breaks and win the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and advance from the 'Group of Death'. He will play against Casper Ruud in the semifinals.
