Roger Federer should lead Team Europe in their charge to stay undefeated against Team World at the Laver Cup, but his participation is in doubt.
More than a victory, the Swiss Maestro will probably want to enjoy his farewell at the 2022 Laver Cup. However, there is a lot of uncertainty around his participation as the latest news form his longtime fitness trainer claim that Roger Federer is not yet decide if he's going to play in London this year. Alternate for Team Europe is Matteo Berrettini and the Italian will probably need to be ready to replace the player that everyone will come to watch during his farewell in O2 Arena.
"He will decide at the last moment," his longtime fitness trainer Pierre Paganini told Switzerland’s Blick. "He’s trained to have as much information as possible about whether it is a good idea or not."
Despite the uncertainty about the 20-time Grand Slam champion's participation, he already arrived to London with a private jet and it seems that he's ready to hit practice courts ahead of the 2022 Laver Cup which should be the last event of his career.
