Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer achieved a lot in their careers and according to John McEnroe it will be difficult for anyone to come close to it.

Carlos Alcaraz broke many records in recent months and the Spaniard can become the youngest player ever to reach the 1st place in the ATP Rankings. But despite his enormous success, John McEnroe thinks it will be challenging for the next generation to get close to the Big Three. Speaking in an interview with Marca, McEnroe said:

"It is clear that none of the youngsters today is going to come close to what we have seen from tennis players like Nadal, Federer and Djokovic, who are true legends. If I have to stay with one, I'll stay with Alcaraz," John McEnroe said.

"He is an amazing athlete, but at the same time he is not very tall if you compare him to Zverev or Medvedev. Almost all the new ones play the same way, with a fast tennis pattern, but Carlos has something different," McEnroe said.

"It seemed that Daniil was going to be a consistent player, apparently last year, but I don't know if the war is affecting him or what exactly is happening to him. Among the favorites to win the US Open I put Borna Coric because of how she has played now in Cincinnati," McEnroe concluded.
