Rafael Nadal is just a sporting genius who is one of the best ever to play tennis, a pretty good football player, and an excellent golfer, at least according to Casper Ruud.
Nadal lives in Mallorca which is quite convenient for him as the island has some very good golf courses. Nadal grew up playing golf and it's a sport he really enjoys playing when he's not playing tennis or football which is another one he loves.
He's been also playing it competitively entering a few amateur events over the years as well. Casper Ruud shares Nadal's love for Golf as he got a chance to play on the same Mallorcan golf courses. Ruud was part of Nadal's academy for years which is how he got to know the Spaniard and his team.
I played with Rafa twice and he shot under-par both of them. If he watches this I'm just gonna take **** from him because his swing is awful but he makes it work somehow.
Nadal is generally known as a player with several notable routines during his tennis matches and Ruud admitted that most of them make an appearance on the golf courses as well. In the video where he talks about Nadal and golfing, Ruud showed off some of the routines that Nadal does.
He has a lot of strange routines, even in golf.
Ruud famously proclaimed that his Wimbledon preparation will just be him playing golf because the grass is for golfers and not tennis players. He certainly followed up on that by skipping over the whole grass season before Wimbledon opting for golf among other things.
