Patrick Mouratoglou looked ahead to the next few months which will be very crucial for Carlos Alcaraz and his career.

Alcaraz amazed many last year with an incredible level which won him plenty of trophies during the year. It started off in Rio last year and continued through Miami, Barcelona, Madrid and the US Open of course. A lot of these events are coming up in the next few months and Alcaraz will find himself in a new situation.

I believe that he doesn't think about the rankings and the points or that he will, ...but more his status. I'm here, I won last year, I beat most of the best players in the world. So, I'm supposed to win. And how do I handle the fact that when I go on the court, everything but a win is a bad result? So this is difficult and this is what he will have to deal with a 100 percent.

Defending all of that will certainly add more pressure on Alcaraz. How he handles that pressure will tell a lot about him as a player. The good thing that Mouratoglou noted was him returning and immediately winning a trophy. That gives confidence to any player and he needs plenty of that.

I think for Carlos it was very important to win. He's coming back after a long injury. If I look at the schedule, he made a schedule to win. His level was good, very decent. He was a bit up and down during the matches, but it's normal four months without playing. So we saw several times, and also in the final, especially to close up the match, that he started to shake a little bit.
