Nick Kyrgios has experienced something that none of us want to experience when his mom was held at gunpoint by a thief.

The harrowing experience began when a 32-year-old man from Canberra allegedly threatened the life of Nick Kyrgios's mother, Norlaila Kyrgios, at gunpoint. The man demanded the keys to the Australian's luxury Tesla vehicle. Little did he know that his actions would be thwarted by Kyrgios's quick thinking and the advanced technology at his disposal.

As reported by ABC, court documents reveal that the accused approached Norlaila, brandishing a long-barreled gun and demanding the keys to the green Tesla. Despite the tense situation, Norlaila maintained her composure, informing the assailant that she did not know how to drive the vehicle when he inquired. Seizing the opportunity, she fled the scene and screamed for help as the man entered the car.

Nick Kyrgios, who is currently out of the tennis action with an injury, was nearby and immediately called the police and began tracking the location of his stolen Tesla using a mobile app. He relayed the vehicle's location to law enforcement, enabling them to find the car soon after the incident unfolded. Despite initially evading police capture by speeding away, the suspect was no match for Kyrgios's tech-savvy response.

As the pursuit continued, Kyrgios remained in contact with the police, providing real-time updates on the Tesla's location. In a decisive move, he remotely limited the car's speed to 80kph, significantly impacting the suspect's ability to evade capture.

Meanwhile, officers from several police stations and a federal police tactical response unit established a perimeter in the suburb of Ainslie. The alleged carjacker now faces five charges, including aggravated armed robbery, failure to stop for police, and driving while suspended. He has been denied bail.
