Rafael Nadal will leave the top 10 for the first time in 18 years soon and Djokovic was impressed with his longevity in tennis.
Keeping track of all records is impossible in tennis but many were surprised to see that Nadal never left the top 10 since entering it in 2005. He's been part of it for 18 years but that will change soon as he'll leave it after Indian Wells.
It's incredible consistency. He has been well-known for that over the years. Yeah, just full respect for him. Just being able to for almost 20 years be in top 10, that's unheard of, honestly. It speaks about the quality of the tennis, just his consistency throughout the year, playing well on all surfaces.
Nadal recently called the record a miracle considering the injuries and Djokovic briefly mentioned taht too. The Spaniard missed a lot of time over the years but still managed to keep himself in the top. Sometimes there was a bit of luck involved too.
With the injuries, he had quite a few injuries that took him out from the tour, even sometimes for almost six months, but he still managed to stay there at the top.
