Dominic Thiem disappointed once more when he failed to lead Austria past Croatia in the Davis Cup and he opened up on Instagram about it.

Thiem has been enduring a tough time for a while now having struggled to find his best tennis following a long recovery from a wrist injury. The results are not good and the confidence seems to be up and down as well.

I’m disappointed I could not help Austria win the Davis Cup tie against Croatia. Congratulations, and well done to them.

Thiem on Davis Cup loss

The loss against Coric left Thiem visibly dejected even though he was widely seen as an underdog in that match. It was the match that decided the tie as Croatia ultimately won 3-2 to advance to the Davis Cup Finals.

I know it wasn't easy for all of you to support me lately, and I fully understand that some of my performances weren't what they should be. I will get back to the best version of myself, and with your support, it will go faster and feel much better. I appreciate it and I am beyond grateful you guys have my back.

Thiem promises to get back to his best

Getting back to his best will be tough but he's determined to get it done. The goals are set out and now it's about achieving them.
