Stan Wawrinka is ready to take on the challenge of playing Germany in the Davis Cup as his country looks to end the dominance of their northern neighbours.
Switzerland hasn't had much success against Germany in the Davis Cup losing every tie since 1939. It's been only seven since then but Wawrinka is keen on making sure that the streak ends. He'll provide much-needed experience to a group of youngsters hoping to lead them to a win.
I always said that I would like to play once again for my country in Davis Cup and that I am available to play if I can bring support to the team. love playing for Switzerland and we have a great team, we know each other quite well, even though I am the oldest!
Scoring a win over Germany will be tricky but it's not impossible. The home team has Zverev but they're missing Struff who has been so good for them over the years. If Wawrinka defeats Zverev, the path to victory will be open.
