'He's Allowed To Be Annoyed': Fritz Accepts Zverev's Complaints About His Box

Taylor Fritz was asked about Alexander Zverev's comments about his player's box, but the American wasn't keen on making it an issue.
The German player made a remark after their match at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, criticizing behavior of the American's player's box, and then qualified it by admitting that he generally has no problem with Fritz or his team, calling them very respectful.
It didn't really end there because Fritz's girlfriend, who Zverev's previous comments were likely about, made a post on social media, which created a bit of drama.
Fritz, though, was in no mood for any part of that. He won the match, and that was all he cared about. He was obviously asked about Zverev's grievances during his post-match press conference, and he simply played it down.
"I mean, at the net, like, it's no big deal. I think he felt that he was for parts, I guess towards the end of the fifth at least, kind of limping around a bit. I think he was annoyed at some people in my box just being loud, cheering for me. Honestly, I can't hear. I don't know. Like, no big deal. He said it's nothing towards me or anything like that."
Zverev's main complaint was against some loud cheering coming from Fritz's box, but the American didn't hear anything that he'd call extremely loud, as he himself sometimes can't hear what's happening on the court.
Ultimately, he concluded that Zverev had a right to be annoyed, if he felt like his box was too loud, but it was clear that he didn't want to over-dramatize the situation.
"I don't really hear my box when I'm playing like that. I didn't hear anyone being, like, extremely loud. He's totally allowed to be annoyed if they were being annoying. Like, again, I don't know. That's one of the things I asked him at the net, Who was it? Yeah, I mean, again, it's not a big thing. It's all good."
