"Great for tennis to have new names" - Sinner after beating Alcaraz

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz played a great match on the centre court of Wimbledon and it surely won't be the last they play there.

The duo are the best young tennis players on the tour and are already established top 10 players. It's hard to predict how far their talent and work ethic will take them but both want to number one someday and both want to win grand slams. So far it's been going good for both albeit Sinner proved a bit better yesterday.

Then I won my first grass-court match here in the first round and now I'm here in the quarter-finals. I tried to adapt myself and I think obviously the crowd helped me a lot. They played at a fairly high level the entire match showing that the future of tennis is in good hands. Neither of them favours the grass at this stage of their career so it was good to see them embrace it with good spirits and sportsmanship. Sinner doesn't know what the future brings but he hopes this will be just one of many.

I think what we showed today, it's a great level of tennis, great attitude from both of us. Hopefully, this is going to be the case, but we never know. There are still so many other players who are playing incredible tennis. For sure we are the two youngest at the moment, so let's see. I don't know in the future what's going to happen. I think it's just great for tennis to have some new names, new players.
