Future of LTA events in doubt over possible Wimbledon ban

The future of LTA events might be in doubt if Wimbledon once again bans Russian and Belarussian players this year.

Players from those countries were not allowed to take part in Wimbledon or any other LTA event due to the War in Ukraine and it divided the tennis community. Some were in favour, and plenty were against but the governing body of British tennis followed the lead of the British government. Heavy fines were issued because of it but the ban might stay in place this year.

It's unlikely but there is chatter about it possibly staying in place. If that happens the LTA might lose all of its events such as the Queen's Club and Eastbourne events.

The situation is extremely serious and one that I don’t think a lot of people have appreciated the full impact of.

A source told The Mail on the matter

Even if the LTA doesn't impose the ban the UK government will likely consider revoking VISAS for players from those countries further complicating the matter.
