The life story of Frances Tiafoe is worthy of a film as the American revealed why his parents kept pushing him into tennis.
Because no other player on the Tour interacts with the fans as much as Frances Tiafoe does while playing, he is likely the most electrifying athlete. This year's US Open saw the American put on a breakout performance, which was a proud moment for his parents.
The way he got into tennis was very odd but the reason why his parents kept pushing him into the sport are not. During an appearance on a podcast recently, Tiafoe revealed:
"Honestly, it's funny that we've been doing all these cause they were only doing that to get me to tennis center, to not be in our neighbourhood after school and kind of just be in a good environment."
The reason why Tiafoe was able to spend some much time at the tennis academy is also simple. He revealed that too:
"My dad helped build a tennis academy. Once the tennis academy was built, he became the head maintenance guy. My dad lived at the tennis center. So, with all those kind of things, it allowed me and my twin brother to be there for free."
