Stefanos Tsitsipas never lacked confidence but even he agrees that too much confidence can be a detriment at times.

Being confident is essential for being a great tennis player, but being overconfident can be detrimental. Stefanos Tsitsipas, who has knowledge of both, holds that view. Although occasionally overconfident, he has been highly confident for most of his career.

The biggest mistake you can make as a top player is to think you've got it, that you're always going to go deep in tournaments. Having that overconfidence that gets you nowhere. Obviously confidence is important to be able to play good tennis, but if there is too much it can hurt you and become dangerous.

For Tsitsipas it's always been about the work and getting better one day at a time. He truly believes in just keeping your head down and working however that doesn't mean he's doubting his tennis. He knows what he can achieve.

The most important thing is to stay grounded, keep your head down and keep working, adding things to your arsenal and that's the key to success this year. I'm confident as a player, I know what I can achieve, I've proven it.
