From December 1st until 4th an exhibition event called the 2022 Trophies of Northern Palmyra will take place in Sibur Arena.

The event is a six-team event and it will be held in the second biggest Russian city St. Petersburg. The entry list includes likes of Aslan Karatsev, Nikolay Davydenko, Evgeny Donskoy, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Elena Vesnina, who are all Russian. However, also players from other countries will compete at the event and that made Ukrainian former player Sergiy Stakhovsky very angry.

Spaniard Pedro Martinez, Hungarians Marton Fucscovics and Anna Bondar, but also Serbians Viktor Troicki, Laslo Djere and Janko Tipsarevic will play at the 2022 Trophies of Northern Palmyra.

After finding out, Stakhovsky has decided to send text messages to Troicki and Tipsarevic. Messages were quite similar as he stated: "Disappointing to see you in Russia. But I guess money can buy it all. I guess money above morals."

Both players responded to Stakhovsky's messages with Tipsarevic being the first one: "How about this mr. Instagram Freedom Fighter... Did you or any of your fucking family members boycotted or protested in any capacity when NATO forces bombed my country, my family and my people somewhat 20 years ago....."

The Ukrainian didn't respond to Tipsarevic's question, just shortly replied: "Enjoy the cash. Instagram freedom fighter, nice of you."

After some time, Troicki also responded to his old colleague from the ATP Tour: "To be in the country of my grandparents is priceless!!! You are an Instagram clown who confused politics and sports.... This has nothing to do with the war, but since you mention it, me and my country went through all the shit and never ever got support! So please shut the f*ck up."

Similarly, Stakhovsky responded only with: "Lovely, enjoy it. It's better to be Instagram clown defending your country, than be a Russian money b*tch." He then tweeted screenshots of both conversations with caption stating: "The Serbian opinion..."
