The 2023 Rotterdam Open offers one of the most star-studded entry lists of the ATP season, but it will miss at least one big name.

The 2023 ABN AMRO Open, known also as Rotterdam Open, is held at the Rotterdam Ahoy Arena from February 13th through 19th, and Andy Murray was one of the players that should have competed in the Netherlands.

The three-time Grand Slam champion received a wild card for the event, but a couple of weeks before it was supposed to start, he decided to change his plans. He cited a change of schedule as the reason for his withdrawal, rather than any injury, so fans can expect to see him back on the courts soon.

Tournament director, Richard Krajicek, was disappointed by the withdrawal of the former world no. 1, but on the other hand, he was happy to announce that the wild-card spot of the Scot will go to another Dutch player, Tallon Griekspoor.

"We consider it a blessing in disguise. On the one hand, it is a pity that Andy Murray will not be present. On the other hand, I am glad that we can admit Tallon to the main draw. He is the man in form and I think he can show great things in the ABN AMRO Open.”
