After the first three teams were announced, we now know the complete line-up for the renewed Hopman Cup.
In a stunning return to the tennis landscape, the Hopman Cup is poised to electrify fans worldwide with its 2023 edition, featuring a star-studded lineup. After a four-year break, the mixed-gender tournament will see top players from around the world vying for the title at the prestigious Nice Lawn Tennis Club.
The Hopman Cup's resurgence is marked by the announcement of the final three teams joining Spain, Switzerland, and hosts France, who were announced as the initial three teams, further solidifying its status as a must-watch event this summer.
Denmark will showcase the young talents of Holger Rune and Clara Tauson, while Croatia enters the experienced duo that is capable of winning big titles in Borna Coric and Donna Vekic. Rounding out the lineup, Belgium's David Goffin and Elise Mertens will bring their impressive skillsets to the court.
The event will be played from July 19th to 23rd and Rune was really happy to compete in a team competition again, especially with Tauson who he knows really well.
"Clara and I know each other very well, and I'm delighted to be able to play with her. We've played doubles on the junior circuit before and we were undefeated then. I am delighted to be able to participate in this competition, which I have always followed."
Vekic missed out on a team competition before and the Croatian player is very happy that she will be able to team up with Coric and represent Croatia in Nice.
"It's always been a dream of mine to play in this competition. I could have played in Perth, but it was a close call because I was a substitute. So I'm very happy to be able to represent Croatia and finally take part in this beautiful tournament."
ITF President, David Haggerty was also part of the announcement of the last three teams, and he was very happy to welcome the Hopman Cup back in the ATP & WTA calendars.
"Today’s announcement completes a fantastic line-up of teams for the return of the Hopman Cup, and with tickets going on sale today the anticipation ahead of the event is really starting to build. This is another of our events that gives players the opportunity to represent their countries and compete for something bigger than themselves – which has attracted some of the world’s biggest names to the tournament."
