Holger Rune and Patrick Mouratoglou won't be working together anymore as the two reached the end of their 'adventure'.

Under the guidance of one of the best coaches in the world, the Danish teenager reached probably the biggest success of his young career. He lifted his first ATP 1000 trophy when he triumphed at the 2022 Paris Masters and entered the Top 10 for the first time in his career.

There's no doubt that Mouratoglou's involvement in this success was massive. Rune is a very talented player and having an opportunity to work with such an experienced coach always seemed like a recipe for success.

The French coach joined Rune's team last October as he was unable to continue working with Simona Halep, who is still provisionally suspended from competing. Mouratoglou wanted to share his knowledge and Rune was ready to absorb it and so a great team was formed.

Initially, the two were supposed to work together only for a period of six months, but as Mouratoglou said in a statement that he released, they exceeded the period and event doubled it.

"Holger! We've successfully completed our mission and ended up having an incredible 6-month adventure, exceeding our original plan of 3 months. It was a pleasure to share this journey with you."

The French coach then praised Rune for his energy and enthusiasm and as he hinted in the statement, we may see the two working together again in the future as the Dane grew up training with the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas, who Mouratoglou also works with.

"Your energy and enthusiasm made it even more special. I have no doubt that your bright future holds amazing things. I remain your biggest fan and I keep an eye on you with the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy Team."

Rune was quick to respond and thank his mentor for a short but intense journey that led to a lot of success.

"Great learning and a lot of fun the past months. I will make sure you can see the development onwards. See you soon."
