The Hopman Cup will return this year, and the entry list for this mixed-team event has already been released.
Although it's not a Grand Slam or a prestigious ranking tournament, the Hopman Cup is one of the most popular tennis tournaments. It was first held in 1989, putting together one ATP and one WTA player in a mixed-team competition.
In 2019, the tournament was held for the last time, but this year, it will return once again. The Hopman Cup will be held from July 19th to 23rd at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club in France.
Six countries will compete in the first edition of this renewed tournament. Spain will probably be the top favorite, even though the country was already forced to change its team.
Carlos Alcaraz will headline the Spanish team, and he was supposed to join forces with Paula Badosa. However, she withdrew from the tournament and was replaced by Rebeka Masarova.
France will be the host country, and they have put together a very experienced team. Richard Gasquet and Alize Cornet will represent the country. On the other hand, Switzerland chose a very young team, as Cline Naef and Leandro Riedi will represent the country.
Denmark also signed up with a young team, but the country has two very talented players, who will make the Danish team very strong. Holger Rune and Clara Tauson will represent their country.
Croatia and Belgium are the other two countries that signed up for the renewed Hopman Cup, and both will have very competitive teams. The Croatian team signed up with Borna Coric and Donna Vekic leading the country, and Belgium will be represented by David Goffin and Elise Mertens.
