'We Aren't Happy': Gauff Calls On Americans To Vote In Upcoming Elections

by Zachary Wimer

Coco Gauff has never been a player who is afraid to speak her mind, and she doesn't avoid tricky topics either.

The American has given her voice to many topics in the past few years, speaking her mind on topics where most athletes would rather not say anything. This is commendable because words have consequences, and some of the greatest athletes of all time remained relatively quiet away from their sport.

Gauff isn't like that and isn't planning on being like that. She's not the most political person out there, but she genuinely speaks her mind on topics that concern her. This year's elections in the United States are one of those topics.

The 2023 US Open champion spoke about that with AP recently, urging people to go out and vote while talking about the situation in her state, Florida.

"We aren’t happy with the current state of our government in Florida, especially everything with the books and just the way our office operates. At the end of the day, it comes down to the youth and the community being outspoken."

"So I encourage everyone to vote, and use your voice regardless of who you vote for. There’s no point in complaining (about) the political climate of the world if you don’t exercise your right to vote."

Gauff wants her compatriots to be responsible and use their right to vote. It's not available to all people in the world, and it's a right for whom many people died in the past, and that's also why she finds it essential to fulfill civil duty.

The 20-year-old is still very young, but she knows that every vote matters, and that's also why she urged her followers and fans to use their power.

"I feel like sometimes in my generation, people think their vote doesn’t count. We should just all just use our voices and use the power that we have."
