Jannik Sinner's schedule for the remainder of 2025 became clearer after the ATP world No. 1 announced his involvement at a tournament later this season.
Sinner is defending a massive number of points from last year's tournaments after Wimbledon. He dominated the hard court swing during 2024's closing months to solidify his spot at No. 1.
The 23-year-old's achievements during that period include winning maiden titles at the US Open, ATP Finals, and the Shanghai Masters, beating Novak Djokovic in the Shanghai final.
Sinner also played one of the best finals of 2025 at another tournament during that period, and he has committed to returning to that event when he resumes playing after finishing at the 2025 US Open.
In a video posted on the tournament's social media pages, Sinner announced his involvement in the 2025 China Open in Beijing and expressed his excitement about competing there for the third consecutive year.
"Hey everyone, Jannik here. Just very excited to come back again to Beijing for the third time in a row, and I'm very excited for that. See you all there, and it's gonna be a great tournament again."
Sinner won the title in his maiden appearance, defeating Alcaraz in the semifinals during that run. A 7-6, 7-6 triumph against Daniil Medvedev sealed the second ATP 500 title of his career.
The four-time Grand Slam champion came agonizingly close to winning back-to-back titles. His 2024 final with Alcaraz was of astonishing quality. After a brutal three-hour battle, the Spaniard prevailed in a deciding set tiebreak.
Since the start of 2024, Sinner has been the best ATP hard court player by far, winning the last three Grand Slams on the surface and producing a consistent and impressive level of excellence.
Alcaraz is the only man to beat Sinner consistently on all surfaces. Excluding the Six Kings Slam exhibition in Saudi Arabia, he was on a five-match winning streak against him before Wimbledon, including an extraordinary fightback in the French Open final.
Sinner's victory in four sets against Alcaraz in the 2025 Wimbledon final felt like a pivotal moment in his career. It simultaneously proved that he can beat Alcaraz on the biggest stage and win Grand Slams outside hard courts.

Sinner is playing first tournament since rehiring controversial fitness coach at Cincinnati Open

The world No. 1 caused a significant stir in the tennis world by rehiring his former fitness coach, Umberto Ferrara. He and physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi had been fired from Sinner's team a few days before the 2024 US Open because of their role in Sinner's doping scandal.
Marco Panichi and Ulises Badio, their replacements, parted ways with Sinner before this year's Wimbledon. The two-time Australian Open winner acknowledged he instigated the move, but did not want to say much about it.
Sinner's response at the 2025 Cincinnati Open to being asked about Ferrara's return to his team was even blunter. He undoubtedly hopes the topic is not consistently focused on throughout the North American swing.
