Emma Raducanu's 2022 Season Summary:

Fresh off her maiden Grand Slam triumph, the Brit started the season in Sydney, but she lost 0-6, 1-6 to Elena Rybakina, and things didn't get any better at the Australian Open, where she won her first match against Sloane Stephens, but then immediately lost to Danka Kovinic.

In the following events, Raducanu wouldn't win back-to-back matches, until the WTA 500 event in Stuttgart, where she made her debut on the clay courts, but eventually lost in the quarterfinals to Iga Swiatek.

In Madrid, she again managed to win two matches, but third obstacle was too big to overcome, something that she would manage to do only once during her 2022 season.

After losing in the second round of the Roland Garros and Wimbledon, Raducanu was hopeful of turning the season around during the North American hard-court swing, and in a sense, it was the best part of her season.

She reached the quarterfinals in Washington, reached the third round in Cincinnati, while delivering back-to-back bagels to Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka, and after a disappointing first-round loss at the US Open, the Brit reached her only semifinal of the season in Seoul.
