Iga Swiatek has already collected her third Grand Slam title at the 2022 US Open and strengthened her position as world no. 1 on the WTA Tour in 2022.

After securing her second major at the Roland Garros, the young Pole aimed to win her first Grand Slam title on hard courts in the Flushing Meadows. She entered the draw as the highest-ranked player in the WTA Rankings and was the biggest favorite to win the event, thanks to her dominant performances throughout the season.

On her way to the 2022 US Open title, Iga Swiatek faced a variety of seeded players and also one former Grand Slam champion. She also faced three American players, and one that had already played her second Grand Slam final in 2022.

Who are these players? That's the question in our quiz about Swiatek's triumph in New York. If you're not sure, refresh your mind with our summary below, but make sure to do that once you're finish with the quiz, not to ruin the fun.

Iga Swiatek's 2022 US Open Triumph Summary:

Entering the tournament as the top seed, naturally all eyes were on the young Pole, even though she was yet to win a major outside of clay courts prior to the 2022 US Open.

However, already after the opening three rounds, it became apparent that Swiatek was onto something. Three straight-set wins against Jasmine Paolini, Sloane Stephens, and Lauren Davis were indicators that the Polish player came to New York with her sight set on the trophy.

Paradoxically, it was the lowest-ranked player that she faced on her journey to the title, world no. 108, Jule Niemeier, who caused her the most issues at the US Open, as the German player won the first set 6-2 and led by a break in the second set.

But Swiatek managed to turn this match around, even winning the third set 6-0, and Jessica Pegula proved to be no match for the Polish player either, as she set up a semifinal meeting with Aryna Sabalenka.

The Belarusian was another player who managed to take a set away from the eventual champion, and she was even up by a break twice in the decider, but that wasn't enough as the top seed made it to the final.

There, she took on Ons Jabeur, who was coming off a Wimbledon heartbreak after losing to Elena Rybakina. On the grass courts, the Tunisian won a set in the final, but this time around, it was a straight-sets win for Swiatek, who won her third Grand Slam title.
