Emma Raducanu is out of action on the WTA Tour due to three surgeries, but she will be doing everything possible to return as soon as possible.

The 2021 US Open champion has been battling with injuries for the majority of her short career and after so many struggles, Raducanu eventually made the decision to undergo three surgeries to solve all of the physical problems.

After starting with the right wrist surgery, the Brit already completed also the ankle injury, and she did it all with a smile on her face. While it's clear that Raducanu will miss Roland Garros and Wimbledon, the discussion about her return has already started.

Former British No. 1, Johanna Konta discussed this when peaking to Skysports, and the 31-year-old was very optimistic about the return of the current British No. 1. However, she warned that the lack of information that we have about those surgeries can be misleading and therefore it's very difficult to predict the recovery time.

"It completely depends on what was actually done in the surgery. Because, there are big surgeries, but there are very minor procedures as well. So, I don't think we're fully aware of what she got done on her wrist, and she also said she's getting something done on her ankle, so that could take more time as well."

Yet, Konta thinks that Raducanu will want to return for the US Open. That's because of multiple reasons, the main one probably being the fact that it's the tournament that changed her life forever when she won it as a qualifier in 2021.

"I think she will want to get back on the court as soon as she can. I think that if she can come back for the US Open, she will. Now whether her body will allow that, whether her rehab program will allow that remains to be seen."

Speaking further, Konta suggested that the 20-year-old won't be taking any extra time out and return to the competition as soon as possible because essentially, that's what you want as a professional athlete.

"But I think as a player you want to come back as soon as possible. You want to put in the work to be able to be back to playing tournaments because that's where you want to be. So I don't think she will be taking any extra time out just for the sake of it."
