Jack Draper is going through a challenging period and after a series of withdrawals, he talked to his fans.
The fans of the young British talent haven't heard a lot from him over the past few months as he's been struggling with injuries. After a good showing in Australia, Draper didn't play until the Indian Wells, where he played really well until being forced to withdraw in the fourth round against Carlos Alcaraz.
Then, he withdrew from the Miami Open but elected to compete in Monte Carlo, where he lost in the second round. After two matches, Draper was forced out of the ATP action once again, withdrawing from the tournament in Madrid and Rome.
Many of his fans were wondering what's going on with the Brit and what's the state of his injury, wondering whether it will allow him to compete at the 2023 Roland Garros. Draper took a chance and addressed his fans through social media, writing:
"It’s been tough to have to withdraw from many tournaments so far this year. I’m working hard to come back stronger and I’m looking forward to competing very soon!"
Although he didn't specify when is he planning to return, it seems that Draper is dedicated to overcoming the injury setbacks and returning stronger than before, racing against the clock for the French Open which will begin on May 28th.
After quite some time away from Twitter, it seemed that the youngster wanted to share more with his fans. A couple of weeks ago, Draper joined Blind Tennis Camp in the United Kingdom and he proved to be a real inspiration for the players attending but also gained a different perspective.
"It was really inspiring to be on court with you guys. It gave me a completely different perspective and appreciate you letting me get involved!"
