Naomi Osaka is staying busy while pregnant as she's getting ready to release a digital apparel line in cooperation with Meta.

Naomi Osaka is away from tennis after announcing her pregnancy earlier this year and she'll be out of the sport for the remainder of the year. Her plan is to come back to the WTA Tour in 2024, preferably at the Australian Open where she lifted trophies in the past.

The Japanese player has struggled with tennis prior to her pregnancy being a long time removed from any kind of top level. All of that together with the pregnancy saw her drop to her lowest ranking since 2014 but she is backed by many to come back strong and return to the top 10 once she finally starts playing tennis again.

While she's away from the sport, Osaka is keeping busy. She's teaming up with Meta to release a digital apparel line which will be part of the company's metaverse. It's an experience that Osaka enjoyed, being able to take trends from the real world and bring them over to the metaverse.

“Being able to take trends from the real world and translate into the metaverse was really fun. Plus you can try a lot of new things when designing digitally—it’s all about pushing myself outside of the box. I can dress my avatar in whatever I want—there’s a lot more freedom and flexibility to have fun and experiment with looks and designs.

The announcement featured designs Osaka made with an explanation provided by the Japanese tennis star. Fashion has always been an interest for her and being able to combine fashion and the digital world appealing to her.

She's due to give birth in the next few months and Osaka opened up about motherhood in an interview a few months ago, saying how it impacted her life.
